My town just very recently retired an Intrepid police car. I was surprised it made it this long.

Philadelphia police still have some 96-01 Ford Explorers. They’re always marked supervisor and probly don’t get the mileage or abuse of a standard patrol car.

There are probably still about 7M of them somewhere in a warehouse due to their problems (along with about as many water pumps), you could probably run one of these cars until we run out of gasoline if you could get the motor pool guys to suffer through maintaining them that long...
